La Mer, Charles Trenet, sheet music

This is one of the rarest items on our site. Not only is this a wartime edition, published in smaller than octavo size on newsprint paper, it bears the stamp of a music store, "The Music Shop", in Arnhem, The Netherlands(visible in scan provided). This sheet was actually printed and sold within months or even weeks of the close of hostilities of WW II. Both France & Holland would have been reeling from the effects of Nazi occupation yet people were still composing, printing, selling & buying sheet music

To top it off, this sheet is, with the exception of the store stamp, in uncirculated condition and bears the cover photo of the youthful Charles Trenet, himself
