We suspect an error in the copyright date printed on the sheet. It is quite definitely printed as 1931 but the lyrics are too topical to WW II so we suspect that the actual date on the sheet should be 1941. We do not believe that the publisher, Waterloo Music, was even in existence in 1931.

It could be that the melody was composed in 1931 with the lyrics set a decade later.
